Minutes
January 31, 2008 2:45 p.m.
Hall Memorial School Principal’s Conference Room
D. Harding called the meeting to order at 2:45 p.m.
Present: D. Harding, D. Sullivan, C. McNamara, T. Gareau, M. Panciera, R. Strong, T. Holewa, T. Petroff, J. Castle.
1. Discussed forming a wellness advisory committee to ensure the implementation of the wellness policy. M. Panciera volunteered to Chair the committee. Other committee members are J. Castle, D. Goodale, T. Petroff, J. Boudreau, P. Stevens. The committee will meet in the next month to develop goals for the next year.
2. Reviewed Tools for Schools. R. Strong gave an overview of some of the projects either completed this year or planned for this year. Projects included new roof units at Center School and at Hall Memorial’s gymnasium, cleaning of the air ducts at both schools, and changing from fiberglass to polyester filters at both schools. He also reported that we were making great strides at becoming 100% “green”.
3. Discussed plans for improving recycling at both schools. Each building administrator will take initiative to develop plan for recycling of plastics and paper at their respective buildings and will report progress at next health and safety meeting.
4. Each administrator reported on progress towards revisions and implementation of emergency/lockdown procedures. They are working with state troopers on recommendations for improving current procedures and will conduct drills prior to next health and safety meeting.
