Minutes
Call to order:
L. Semprebon called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.
Present: Board Members: H. Arico, T. Gareau, C. Mailhos, M. Makuch, C. Psathas and
L. Semprebon.
Absent: D. Tharp (On Active Duty)
Also Present: D. Harding, C. Berglund, Community Members
Communications: None.
Present to Speak: None.
Consent Agenda:
Motion #1: H. Arico moved to: approve the consent agenda A & C.
C. Mailhos, 2nd
Unanimous Motion Carried
Committee Reports:
A. CIP – Town Meeting will be held to approve $15,000 for Center computers.
B. Generator likely will be placed in loading area. Selectmen will release funds and pay for project.
C. Transportation – Reg. #19, May 14, 6:00 p.m. Two board members will attend.
D. April 26, 2:00 p.m. – Transportation Ad Hoc Committee.
Superintendent Reports: C. Berglund reported on agenda items.
Old Business:
A. Citizenship Award was discussed. Names can be submitted to either the Board Chair or
Superintendent.
B. C. Berglund stated that $61,839 from health insurance account will be available at the end of
the year.
D. Harding discussed purchasing Power School Today student management system which has an
initial cost of $24,000. Our current WinSchool student management system is being phased out
and will not be supported.
C. Motion #2: M. Makuch moved to: approve purchase of sixth grade Prentice Hall
Connected Math 2006 edition.

New Business:
H. Arico, M. Makuch and L. Semprebon will serve on Teacher Negotiation Committee.
Present to Speak: Parent and teacher Laura Gilbert, spoke again in support of Connected
Math.
Board Comments: Spanish teachers were thanked for COLT Rhyme presentation. History Day and
Science Fair winners were congratulated. Variety Show was considered wonderful by everyone.
L. Semprebon appreciates teachers’ efforts to differentiate instruction. D. Tharp settling in.
Motion #3: C. Psathas moved to: adjourn at 8:36 p.m.
